	Hobby Master 1/72 scale HA5805: Lockheed F-117A Nighthawk #82-0806 Vega 31 of 7th FS Screamin Demons, USAF, Kosovo, Operation Allied Force 1999. Only 750 produced. Length 11 inches Wingspan 7.25 inches F-117A Nighthawk 82-806 "Something Wicked" was accepted September 12, 1984. The aircraft from Holloman AFB 7th FS "Screamin Demons" was assigned to the 8th FS during "Operation Allied Force" and based at Aviano AB, Italy. On March 27th 1999 82-806's call sign was "Vega31" with a mission to bomb Serbian forces. During the mission the aircraft was hit by one of two missiles and became the first F-117 lost in combat. The pilot ejected safely and was rescued. F-117 82-806 had previously flown 39 successful missions in Operation Desert Storm. Designed and developed by Lockheed, the F-117 was the first operational aircraft conceived with stealth technology. It first flew on June 18, 1981, but was not officially acknowledged until 1988, when the Pentagon released a grainy, unrevealing photograph to the media (the aircraft itself was not seen by the public until 1990). With no afterburners and a shape designed to deflect radar signals, the F-117 is subsonic but effective. It has an automated planning system, sophisticated navigation and infrared target acquisition. It has been used several times in combat, most notably during the Persian Gulf War. It was retired in 2008, replaced by the more formidable F-22.
